Iran Holds West Responsible for Nuclear Talks Stalemate
Speaking in Tehran during ceremonies commemorating the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Pezeshkian said what he described as excessive demands from the West have obstructed diplomatic progress.
He reiterated that Tehran has no intention of developing atomic weapons and signaled openness to oversight, stating Iran is "ready for any verification of that."
Addressing regional security, the president underscored Tehran’s position that solutions must come from within the Middle East rather than from outside actors.
"We believe that the region's problems can be resolved only by regional countries, not foreign states," he said, adding that Iran will never surrender to excessive demands and aggression.
Despite tensions, Pezeshkian maintained that Iran remains committed to diplomacy, saying the country is pursuing engagement in good faith. He added that Tehran continues discussions with West Asian nations aimed at preserving stability and strengthening regional peace.
